Dr. Mohamed Abdi

Founder & Group CEO

Dr. Mohamed holds a Doctorate degree in strategic management, master in Banking and Finance, degree in International Business Administration as well as postgraduate diploma in Islamic Banking and Insurance from Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance London (IIBI). He is an associate fellow at Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance London and a trained Certified Shari’ah Adviser and Auditor (CSAA- AAOIFI)

Dr. Mohamed is a trailblazer in Islamic finance across East Africa, with a remarkable track record of shaping the industry. He has spearheaded initiatives in banks and central banks, led the establishment of Islamic insurance for the Tanzanian government, and achieved numerous milestones that have advanced Islamic finance in the region.


Juma Mvudi (CSAA)

Co-founder & Executive Director

Juma Mvudi is a Certified Shariah Adviser and Auditor (CSAA) and holds fellowship of the CSAA from the global Islamic finance standard-setting body, Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). He has worked in the Islamic banking sector since its inception in Kenya in 2007 after studying economics in the Sudan. 

He has worked with reputable organizations in the Islamic banking space in the country which include major players in the sector namely Gulf African Bank, KCB Sahl, Chase Iman and Takaful Insurance of Africa, contributing expertise in Islamic product development, Shariah audit and compliance as well as Islamic finance training. In addition, he holds the COP in retirement schemes trusteeship from the College of Insurance in conjunction with Humber Centre for Employee Benefits, Toronto, Canada and is a trustee of the Takaful Umbrella Fund.


Mwenesi Musalia, 

Director Business & Corporate Affairs

With over 12 years of senior management experience in multinational organizations across South Africa and Kenya, Mwenesi brings a wealth of expertise in corporate strategy, legal frameworks, and business communication. A corporate lawyer and seasoned communications professional, Mwenesi holds a Master’s degree in International Trade and Commercial Law from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.

In 2014, Mwenesi founded House of Major, a strategy and communications firm in Nairobi, Kenya, focusing on delivering innovative solutions to drive organizational growth. Recognizing the critical role of effective communication in corporate success, Mwenesi launched the Etiquette and Protocol Institute of East Africa in 2016. Under Mwenesi's leadership, the institute has developed impactful training programs for a diverse clientele, including government institutions, universities, corporates, and high-profile individuals.



Dr. (CPA) (FA) Abdi Adan Roba

Finance Lead

Dr. (CPA) (FA) Abdi Adan Roba holds Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Finance, Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Degree in Finance He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA), a Certified Investments and Financial Analyst (CIFA) and a Certified Pension Trustee. He is a full member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), 

Dr. (CPA) (FA) Abdi Adan Roba is a seasoned internal audit, corporate finance, risk management, quality assurance and operational efficiency, banking and financial management professional with flair over and vast experience attained over the years in the banking and energy sectors.

Elisha Waudo,

With a robust background in designing, building, testing, and deploying software products, our team member brings extensive expertise across high-growth industries such as healthcare and retail. His strengths lie in delivering comprehensive, end-to-end software solutions, configuring cloud platforms, and continuously refining applications based on user feedback. He has a proven ability to lead product development from inception to launch using Agile methodologies, ensuring high-quality outcomes and meeting project milestones effectively.
